The end of maternity leave

My 'year off' is over... First day back at school with my class. My head aches, my feet hurt and I'm tired...but my head is still bubbling with ideas and things to do over the coming weeks. There really is nothing like teaching - it is not a job: it's a vocation, an obsession, and as much as I hate it sometimes (and thanks to Gove I am feeling that more and more) I also love it.

Still, I had to take paracetamol and lie down for 2 hours with a cold flannel on my head before I could even eat my dinner tonight! Ha, I am out of practice!
