The End Of The Pier.....

This is the harshest winter I have endured since I moved away from Aberdeen some fifteen years ago. There have been sub-zero temperatures in the Fylde for seven consecutive days, which is very unusual for this part of the world.

My commute to work is 3.5 miles and I usually cycle, but today I elected to walk along the beach. The pier is St Annes Pier. You may just be able to see that the sea has retreated as far as it possibly can away from the shore!
