Mama's Treasures

We moved my Mom to a care home last Friday. Her dementia has progressed considerably (especially since she stopped smoking three months ago on the initiative of the people in the home she has stayed in until Friday. They were afraid she might forget to extinguish her cigarettes properly and cause a fire.).

She forgets things from one moment to the next and these last weeks, she needed to be accompanied to find places she has known for ever and a day...

The good thing about forgetting : when I left her room for a while and came back, she greeted me with the same pleasure as if I had only just arrived. ;)

She thinks people are robbing her and so, she refuses to take any jewellery along to the new place.
