Slioch

The long and winding road led to Loch Maree today, where we had this wonderful view of Slioch, a Munro climbed about 15 years ago. As we drove on to Inverewe Gardens I noticed a sign pointing along a side road to Badachro Inn - we'd stayed near there years ago and I remembered a wonderful view of a sheltered bay from the pub. It was as stunning as I remembered, and nearly made it to the final cut for blip, with the bay full of yachts. But our lunch matched the pockets of the yachtsmen - beautifully presented, very expensive and with paltry portions. A starter of Smoked Mussels from a jar in oil, £7.25, a fish pie of starter proportions, purporting to contain seafood but actually had a minute quantity of fish with no seafood to be found, £14.95, - a rip off but we did sit in the sun overlooking a great view.
