DAD & MOM lived through hard times with love
They got married in 1940. Dad survived 4 major sea battles (Pearl Harbor 12/41; Coral Sea 5/42; Midway 6/42; Landing craft into Sicily 7/43). He didn't survive the pill that replaced his insulin and destroyed his health. Mom survived the hard farm live in Oklahoma in the early 1900's, Small Pox, Flu of 1918, the Great Depression. Their love and hard work kept a family of 4 thriving through financial hard times of the 50's and relative good times till 1967 when dad's health had already been severely harmed by the side effects of meds that were not taken off the market until after his death in 1974. 14 years of loneliness & cancer (not Dx in time - misread test) took mom away from us 1989. Looking forward to seeing them again.
