SUMMERTIME.....
…..and the weather is crazy! Could anything be worse than torrential rain when you don't have full waterproof clothing or an umbrella? Well, yes - doing reconstruction works in heavy rain and then hitting a water main, so you have double the amount of water - from the sky and from the ground!
I spoke to one of the workmen - well did you think I wouldn't? I think he was surprised to see someone taking a photograph in the pouring rain, but he obviously doesn't know how resilient we blippers are! He said that the job was awful and the mud was so claggy, but they just had to get on with it - a true British workman.
Apparently, by the weekend, the weather in the UK is going to have the most frenzied and chaotic start to summer EVER as monsoons and tornadoes rage in. I think we will wait and see but there may be some good blip opportunities.
I went into school today and spent most of the morning trying to sort out the library. It's like a "painting the Forth Road Bridge" job!
For those of you on the other side of the world who don't know what I mean - to explain - the Forth Road Bridge is a very large bridge in Edinburgh and the expression means it takes such a long time that by the time you have finished doing it, you have to start again - and that is pretty much how sorting out the school library seems to me. It looked great when I left, but can't promise it will look the same next week but hey ho, if children are looking at books, that must be good.
Wonder if you can guess which song I chose today?
