Biddulph Grange

This is the Chinese Garden there. It's my favourite garden, especially as I watched a weekly TV programme many years ago, about its restoration. There were 2 lovely old gardeners called Basil and Ernie ( or was that their names?) who remembered it being buried under soil during the war. They had a hospital there at the time and used the garden to grow food. I believe that what is now the cafe used to be the operating theatre. My friend saw it in use when she was a student nurse.
