Diary of an Edinburgher

Couch potato

It’s persisting down outside, so we both (Archie and I) looked out and decided not to go on our walk in the rain. Archie reluctantly went outside for a piddle. We had a vigorous training/ play session in the kitchen instead. Vigorous for him - I sat on a chair.

He’s conveniently forgotten ‘Sit!' so that was revisited. Many times. He can ‘Fetch Monkey’ most times, only sometimes he comes back with Snakey or indeed - his all time favourite - Plastic Milk Container. He’s good at ‘Leave!’ when a bit of kibble is near his nose. And he can ‘Stay...’ on the mat for - oh - ages.

I made the mistake of trying to take the washing off the pulley while he was in the kitchen - I usually do it when he's outside or in his bed. It was too wet to put him outside, so I had to tie the pulley away up high to get the stuff off safely. Then I tried to hang the duvet cover over it without Archie being clamped to one end. In the end, I had to stand on a chair a) to reach the pulley and b) so that Archie couldn’t grab the duvet. Ridiculous.

We watched TV and snoozed all morning - I see it's persisting down in Paris too, so no tennis. :-(

We had lunch and played/trained and then back to the sofa. We both looked much like this...

But one of us will have their ear hairs yanked out this afternoon…

Glad it’s not me!

EDIT: Just been to the vet. He's got drops for his infected ears and she took a swab. No hairs pulled out while they're sore. Archie was preoccupied with biscuits, but kept giving wee squeaks while she looked in his ears.

It took about 5 minutes. That'll be £47.50, thanks.
