Fridge and pantry clearance

i like cooking a heap of food in one go - it means there is something for any time of the day, and i don't have to spend more time in the kitchen over the next day

clearing out my fridge, i found a cup of peas, some corn, and some chicken backs - some potatoes needed to be gotten rid of before they began shrivelling - then there was a third of pack of black-eyed beans that must have been sitting in the cupboard for a while

so it's a variety meal for lunch today: potato salad, boiled chicken, rice and peas (someone's already dipped into that), and a soupy stew of mavromatika (greek for black eyed beans)
