Day Fifty One
Sandra, her aunty, and her cousin (sleeping at the back)
Pounding sesame seeds to make a delicious seasoning, I can't quite remember it's name, but i think that it is something like pennydah...but I have a tub of it to take back to Scotland, yum!
Today is my last full day in Liberia, I fly home tomorrow :-(
No more:
Cockroaches, sunburnt toes, sweating 24/7, waiting until 7pm before electricity comes on, sand in my bed, random proclamations of love and marriage proposals, loud music from crackling speakers, bathing from a bucket, the best lebanese coffee, rice bread, club beer, sweet sweet pineapple, malaria tablets, using a bucket to flush the toilet, hazardous walk down the freeway to get to work, fufu, UN jeeps, dual currency, roasted corn, palm butter, prepay scratchcards for the internet, mangoes crash landing on the roof right above my bed, lizards, being known as 'white woman', sharing my bedroom & office with mice, assumptions that I am from the USA.
Can't quite beleive that I will be sitting in my living room with the family tomorrow night...it's weirding me out a little!
