These shoes were made for..
After a long days meeting and work visits to research centres a trip to a shoe museum is called for! The Bata shoe Museum displays over a thousand shoes and related artefacts (from a collection over 13,000). The strange four story building is styled as a giant shoe box and won architect Raymond Moriyama several awards!!
Actually it was quite a good visit with the basement floor the most spectacular and clever display with great use of mirrors and lights. If you look very carefully you can see me twice in this blip, hiding behind my iPhone!
I saw lots of shoes, ancient to modern, practical to downright crazy, including Elton Johns platforms, Marilyn Monroe's high heels, Michael Johnson's gold spikes, Justin Beiber's sneakers, clogs, seal skin boots, glass slippers, an astronauts boot and a shoe for a cow in the winter!!
