A room with a view

Dominating the skyline at 553.33m (1,815ft5in) a trip to Toronto wouldn't be complete without a visit to the CN tower. Up and down in the glass bottomed elevator, a walk across the glass floor of the viewing deck and lunch and beer in one of the restaurants - which is where this shot was taken from. It gives a feeling of how high up the main area is. Imaging being right on the very top!! I declined the sky walk - around the outside edge of the tower!! It was reminiscence therapy as I have been here once before in 1995 as part of a New England and Canada tour.

Now for some nerdy CN tower facts. It was completed in 1976 and serves as a communications hub for the City to get the TV signals around all those pesky skyscrapers. It held the record as the World’s Tallest Free-Standing Structure for 34 years. It was designated as one of the 7 engineering Wonders of the Modern World and has 1.5 million visitors each year.
