100 Happy Days: #66

Welcome to Bruges!

The whistle stop tour of Belgium continues today with our arrival in Bruges. In contrast with a slightly underwhelming Antwerp, I was blown away by Bruges. (or "Brugger" as my Satnav would have it).

We spent the afternoon walking the streets - following the many horse drawn carriages through the winding narrow city streets, through quiet gardens and silent monasteries, and sitting out, watching the world go by from some a cafe in a quiet square we found off - just slightly off the tourist trail.

This evening, we went out for dinner and found a nice restaurant by the river before a lazy walk back to the hotel and a quick snap of the famous clock tower at dusk.
