Seals at the Sound of Eynhallow
I bussed to Evie and walked down a track to the shore. The air and water were very still and I could hear a cuckoo call from Rousay, a couple of miles away. There were lots of arctic terns about and two arctic skuas which specialise in bullying terns to give up their food. Plenty of eider ducklings now and a pair of shelduck also had youngsters. About eleven of these common seals were hauled out on the shore.
