Old Young Trout

I stopped at Lake Rotoiti today in Rotorua on the way home as it was nice and glassy with no wind.

To my surprise this guy was having an afternoon conversation with a hungry seagull at the waters edge.

It looked like he hadn't been there long as the gull had only just emptied his other eye socket so I turned him over and on this side he looked fab although a little thin around the belly.

I apologise for the reference to a him but I've never known the difference between a him or a her in trout world, so him it is.
