Snowshoe hare stare down

I have several snowshoe hares (now in their brown summer coat) that live in the forest surrounding my home. Tonight I could see three within a photoshot - they were so funny as well - I think - probably mating season. Or maybe its always mating season with rabbits and hares... anyhow - they were pretty jumpy - or laid out flat - like the one in the background of the two having a staredown...
