Coming round the corner as I ran up Johnston Terrace to catch my 9.20 bus after choir practice, this impossible-looking structure came in to view, cantilevered out from the Castle Esplanade.

Would I consider going to any event - whether the tattoo or Tom Jones - if it meant sitting up there?

I think not.
