a new pond

United Utilities are constructing a lovely big pond on part of the site of the old Hurst Reservoir at Glossop.

The final agreed work to remove the reservoir and reshape the valley included a requirement for a small body of water which although beneficial to wildlife is primarily a resource for the Fire Service in case of moorland fires.

I can't make my mind up whether they are just small scale models and I got the perspective wrong or they are enormous and part of the set of a new James Bond film either way its a scene that is hard to comprehend after all the years I have been walking there and watching the wildlife.
