Sands of Time

Tractors have been out all week dragging the beaches to scrape away the thin top layer of fine pebbles, and leave the soft sand beneath for the holidaymakers now arriving in large numbers. This lot, huddling under the umbrella, looked like they were about to be swept away too. Not much fun sunbathing in the path of a tractor!

PS: If you look very closely you can see the mountains of N. Africa lying faintly along the horizon.
