Hoy High Lighthouse
Hoy High Lighthouse, Graemsay, Orkney, Scotland.
Designed by Alan Stevenson and first lit in 1851, Hoy High lighthouse is the higher of the two lighthouses built on the island of Graemsay to mark Hoy Sound.
The lighthouse shows some Egyptian influence in the design (particularly the keepers' cottages) and is similar to the towers which Alan Stevenson also designed at Ardnamurchan and Covesea Skerries.
The lighthouse was automated in 1978.
