Special sunday

Today was nothing short of bliss! Right from morning to evening.

Breakfast was the first great bit. We ate together al fresco in the sunshine with my parents-in-law before heading off for our river Wye canoe trip. The sun was shining and the current made rowing in our Canadian canoe very easy indeed. We enjoyed the sights and sounds of the wildlife we saw- the tiny swallows flying into their nests in the cracks in the river bed wall amazed us most.

We took the Wye to Hay for the Hay festival. It was great to see so many families at the literary festival but it was a shame that the readings and talks were all ticketed- we were hoping for more open events.

After the festival we had dinner in the garden with Tom's parents and grandparents which was so special. We had a bottle of proseco to open to celebrate our anniversary and the cork flew right up onto the roof! Jan made a gorgeous flower arrangement for us and covered our wedding album in material with a special history. Eventually we had to head back home but the weekend has left us feeling very loved and very very lucky!
