Sands of Time (backblip)
A magic view of my favourite Bay .... Applecross.
We arrived at the lovely old-style Lock Maree Hotel late last evening after a very good journey with fabulous views and alot of photo stops!! the last one, our first view of Loch Maree, was accompanied by Cuckoo calls,a sound I haven't heard in years.
We enjoyed our evening; dinner was great (Haggis with a wee dram starter for T - I did have a taste even though it wasn't g/f ~ it was delicious - get back allergies). After dinner I braved the midges and took some nice sunset shots of the majestic Beinn Eighe. After the obligatory Scottish Breakfast we took a walk to the nearby Nature Reserve in the hope of seeing the resident Sea Eagles ~ we didn't! but nevertheless enjoyed our walk with beautiful views. Then we drove to Sheildaig and Torridon and took the amazing coast road to Applecross where we spent most of the day. We visited a recently restored Victorian Garden and had lunch in The Potting Shed (the Restaurant there). Sadly, the sands of time ran out and we had to return to Loch Maree. We drove back over Bealach Na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) - a very interesting drive. T drove it!
I love Applecross.
