Labour of love

We walked up to the air strip on top of Mount Airey Hill this afternoon. Most of the aircraft were out, enjoying the good weather, but this one was still in its hanger. We stopped to talk to the owner, who told us he had built it himself from scratch. Apparently it can fly to the south of France without refuelling, but it takes around five hours to do so!
