Ants and eggs

Just wandering around the garden to see if I could find a blip, I lifted the lid of one of our compost bins to put in some very old carrot tops, and found loads of ants and eggs. The ants immediately started to try to pull their eggs back to safety, so I took some shots very quickly. These two were gamely trying to do it alone, but very soon they were joined by others and some eggs had 3 or 4 carriers. Hand-held this was about the clearest image I achieved.
