Millennium Bridge, Lancaster

In 2001, a new bridge was opened up over the River Lune in Lancaster.

Although its innovative style provoked criticism in the early days, the bridge is used by many cyclists and pedestrians alike on a daily basis and there are indications that visitors come from far and wide specifically to see it.

The Millennium Bridge is a spectacular landmark for which Lancaster, amongst other things, has become famous.
