The Re-Awakening

Families from Ashland undertake the ceremonial unveiling / re-awakening of the Ashland Water Serpent (go to http://www.simpsonandashland.co.uk then to Ashland Public Art Project).
The sun shone. The mud was manageable. The speeches were short. The music and movement and costumes were engaging and mysterious - great work by Festive Road. A good completion of some three year's work.
(The map and photo are very old - the greyhound / speedway track is long gone, and houses are being built. And the Ashland Woods now have their own 120m-long Water Serpent!)
