Cocktails on the Tyne

So much choice of photos to blip today!
Went to Tynemouth market this morning (held in Tynemouth station, which is a lovely grade 2 listed building, which has been a metro station since 1980 but was a train station previously since 1882.) The Saturday morning has second hand stalls and antiques so browsed for bargains.

Then went to Sunderland National Glass Centre to see some art made of glass and see glass being made.

Beautiful weather so went back home to Newcastle and went for a walk along the Quayside. Sat down in the sun by the river for a cocktail and to admire the view. This picture shows the red Swing Bridge and the green Tyne Bridge behind. I've actually never seen the swing bridge open! I am hoping to visit during the national heritage days in September to visit the booth above to see how it works and see it open for the first time. I hope the lovely weather continues for the rest of the weekend.
