Aphid who's days are numbered
Amanda has some new pets, ladybird larvae. They are in a plastic box and very tiny. This morning she went out and harvested lots of aphids to feed them with. I've already seen one of the larvae shed it's skin this morning but they're still about a quarter of the size of the aphids. They didn't seem so bothered and then a couple of them had a feeding frenzy and wiped out some aphids. Pretty gruesome. I have a few shots of one devouring an aphid but it wasn't quite the best shot so I've chosen this one. He's quite cute for a plant destroying menace. His days are numbered though when my ladybird boys (they may be girls I have no idea) track him down.
