Geranium cinereum ‘Ballerina’
An early-flowering dwarf geranium that keeps producing blossoms for much of the summer. This one-inch flower is dazzling in detail. These low-growing alpine plants like sharp drainage and a fair amount of sun to produce masses of tiny detailed flowers atop of pretty palmately lobed, grey-green leaves. Here, at Edgewood, they dot the rock garden where we have a good gravel base. Most of our native garden soil is heavy clay where these little flowers would perish. This Alan Bloom of Bressingham introduction is a two-time recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society ‘Award of Garden Merit’ plant.
