All the World's a Stage
From Central Park to Sefton Park. Both magnificent public spaces. Whereas Central Park's perimeter is a fitness motorway- with thousands zooming round on bikes, or on foot, Sefton Park is equally well used but has a slightly more leisurely feel. Long may they continue. Central Park was restored in the 1980s and is now run by a non-profit Conservancy on contract from the City Council. It received a $100m gift from a hedge fund manager in 2012. Meanwhile, in Liverpool, with the city facing yet more massive cuts which are set to result in the closure of 2 inner city swimming pools, there are plans to sell off Sefton Park Meadows- on the edge of the park- for housing development.
