Lovin' it
The last day of public transport into Edinburgh. And on a Friday to get this damned tender finished. Or at least as finished as it could be before finishing it at the weekend. Just a few hours filling in gaps, like you do when you construct anything with simple joints. Little bits of wood wedged in. Textual filler squeezing out. Yesterday's wooden words sanded and smoothed before applying more. Scraps of material laid over the gaps to hide the joins. All things to cover up what would be on show if the thing had been properly crafted. Anyway, no dovetails on this one. Nails, strong glue and clamps.
After, a wander down to Leith to drink beer in a cool pub on a sunny afternoon. Great chat, which turns out to be easy and funny even with people you barely know but know quickly that there's too many similarities for it not to work out well. Plots hatched and a bus back up to the station. The only trouble with afternoon drinking is that if you stop there's a strange dehydrated hangover kicks in at about 10pm.
