Tobacco barn

Today, I had to drop my son off at a class party outside of town. When my husband and I were first married, we lived across the road from there in an old pre-civil war log cabin. The kids said.... It's so small. I said... It was so cold!

It was nice to see it again. After we dropped my son off, I took my daughter on a tour of the area. It is beside the river, squashed in the mountains. (The James river is older than the blue ridge mountains which you can tell because it runs across them instead of between them. )

We had explored this area extensively when we were younger and this old tobacco barn had always intrigued me. When I knew I was going to be in the area, I packed my camera to see if I could get some pictures.

It is extremely well preserved. There were still poles inside for hanging the tobacco. I don't know when it was last used.

I took several shots, and I don't know if this one is interesting if you haven't seen the others, but I think it is pleasing, somehow.
