Fashion Avenue

The weekend finally arrived and it was GREAT to be able to wake whenever I was ready to!

Had an unusual Friday morning - went to Dubai Mall to tick several things of a list... starting with trying to see the new model Nikon Df which the store don't seem to want to sell (they've kept it in it's box in a glass cupboard). G needed a part for her Swatch watch but they didn't have it; then had a smoothie (my first ever!) before going to Kino Kuniya to get "1000 Places to see before you Die" for Gs colleague. Back again to the other side of the Mall to look at North Face. Can't believe that store and the price of things in it even when there's a Sale on; then down again to do a little food shop in Waitrose before finally getting home for lunch and the rest of the day!!

Whilst drinking our smoothies, we enjoyed a bit of people watching but it was MUCH more fun when we moved to the Fashion section of the Mall. This is the posh part. Those are butterflies hanging from the ceiling. Burberry, Valentino, Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Jimmy Choo etc are here. It is tres elegant, and has the best washrooms! And of course some very interesting people come walking along! :)

We left Oman last Sunday with a rather large piece of Black Forest smoked gammon which G cooked up today. It was amazing! A wonderfully leisurely start to the weekend.
