Peeping
The girls have been fascinated with the number of birds we have in our garden. They have helped grandad to fill up the feeders every morning and watched as different visitors arrived.
Best of all has been the daily peep at the Blackbird’s nest to see the chicks. The fact that they hear the mother blackbird squawking at them from a nearby tree has been enough to make them very careful not to go too close.
And then that House Martins should choose a window of the room the girls were sleeping in to build their nest was fortuitous. Although they could not see in to the mud-built nest, they got very excited as they watched through the window the birds flying backwards and forwards with food for the little ones.
They are all home now and the house feels way too quiet and tidy. But we have had a wonderful week. If you want to see the Turtle called Different again look here. This well-travelled guy is still a very best friend, as you can see.
