the world. I'm happy for some
days away from him


This man gets on the bus one stop after I do. He immediately begins to moan and complain to the driver - in his loud, monotonous voice - about the trams, the traffic, the weather, the effect the weather is having on the traffic, what a mess the tram project has been, how the imminent completion of the tram project will affect the traffic...

This may sound like rich and varied conversation. It is not. I have had to listen to this guy several times a week for over a year!

Today I am happy that, for at least two days, I am guaranteed NOT to hear his voice
