JLT's Orchid

John never met his grandfather, but his hobby was growing orchids.
Somehow they have survived being passed down the family, none of whom know anything much about the technicalities involved.
They now seem to live with me and so far I haven't managed to kill them. This is the 3rd crop of flowers since I took over. They obviously thrive on a bit of neglect.

By the way JLT stands for his Christian names, James Linklater Thompson, and he was commonly known by the acronym.
He got so fed up of having 3 Christian names that he gave each of his 4 children only one each: William, James, Tom and Mary.
