Desperately seeking

A Change.

I'm busy preparing for a weekend show. One of the jobs was taking The Mother to a care home for a few days. She came over to our house at lunchtime for a hot meal and fruit and ice cream so I knew she had something she like to eat today then we went into town to the home.

This was a very quick shot taken from the car a gateway between the yellow lines on the other side of the road, when I could get a gap in the traffic. I only had my phone with me but it shows the nature of the place surrounded by trees and the free range hens. It was a shame she missed the chance to have a look around the home last week by being admitted to hospital but she got a very friendly welcome and her room was pleasantly spacious. Luckily it overlooks the entrance so she will see people coming and going. The main road into Penrith runs beside the home so she will have the benefit of street lights at night. Something she was always used to before she moved to a village.

So I stayed with her for a while to help her unpack then did some shopping for fresh food for a weekend away. She has a couple of friends planning to visit so that will be nice for her. It won't be long, I'll be collecting her soon for a special few days with her niece.

The last home she stayed in had wireless internet which she enjoyed to keep up with the family, this one doesn't. I won't have a connection either so it's "Goodbye" from her and it's "Goodbye" from me!
