Acorn Woodpecker with acorns in a tree
We are at our last stop, just outside San Francisco. We are hooked up in a delightful spot surrounded by oak trees and wildlife in abundance.
All the RV’s here except for ours are permanent homes. The rent for the site is a fraction of the cost of renting a studio in town. I think these guys are really sensible to do this and have a beautiful environment. We’ve seen inside one of the vehicles and it is simply stunning!! From the outside, you would think these campers were beyond use.
I’ve blipped this acorn woodpecker as they are called here, not so much for the bird, it isn’t that good but because it shows you how they peck the holes in the tree and then store their acorns in them. The size of the drilled hole is a perfect fit.
You may need to view the blip LARGE to see the acorns. In fact, I think you should!
Tomorrow we return our RV and spend two nights in San Francisco. Who knows, maybe a bridge blip tomorrow☺
Thanks again for helping to make our vacation so much more fun!
