Popping poppies....

My mother is a keen gardener and one of my favourite plants/flowers in her garden is the poppy bush. It has 38 (mums hubby counted) poppies on there, some of them are buds and some are ready to pop.

I took this over a period of two afternoons, I was determined to capture the 'pop'. It takes it's time and once they have popped and start to flower they're crinkly at first. As they open up they just turn into the most beautiful flower. It's just a shame they don't last very long.
