Black Isle Buddha
Back in the National Museum of Scotland this afternoon, to see some more of it; after visiting twice in two days and having had a good look round I think it is one of the best museums I have ever been to. Lots of pictures that could have been photo of the day but this fortunate combination of Buddha and lens flare stood out as my favourite. This statue is (I know from reading the sign) Japanese, from the 18th century and shows the Buddha Amida - before it arrived in the museum it was kept on the Black Isle as part of a private collection.
