Ten Cubic Yards
My wonderful husband gave me a present today - 10 cubic yards of sifted dirt! And what beautiful dirt it is too - dark and rich like coffee grounds. This is going to be for my vegetable garden. The truck driver did his very best to tip it into the raised beds, but of course he was only partially successful, and we spent a good part of today shoveling. Still not finished.
We are giving a dinner party tomorrow, pulling out all of the stops, beef bourginon straight out of Julia Child. So we also shopped for beef, mushrooms and pearl onions and chose a Beaujolais Villages to go with it. After all the shoveling we were a wee bit tired. The original plan was to prepare everything the day before, but the best laid plans and all that... we did get the pearl onions prepared and the mushrooms chopped. We'll be spring cleaning the house in the morning. Arrrgh.
