Fiona Shaw on stage, portraying the Virgin Mary as we are used to see. In the play 'The Testament of Mary' by Colm Tóibín she portrays a very different - and much more credible - version of Mary: A woman who has lost her son. Before the play began, spectators (like me) were allowed to go on stage to examine the set, including a live vulture, and Mary/Fiona in a glass cube. The stage filled quickly, and taking pictures quickly lost its appeal ...
