Change of direction

My last blip was a generic bird shape which I will use to test / try / learn detailing techniques.
Today is a somewhat bigger project. It's the rough of the first of a pair of Great Crested Grebes. The wood is 'jelutong'. It's a fairly soft hard wood if that makes sense. For all that, after only a couple of hours work with hand tools my hands are tingling and my grip on the tools isn't great.
Time for a brew.
