Flying Foxes (red)
This colony is temporary residing in the Redcliffe Botanical Gardens for the summer.
Their food sources are from local fruit trees in backyard gardens, large nectar producing trees or scrubs. According the Friends of the Garden, they will fly 1okm each night to gather their food.
Were they noisy? Yes, Yes, Yes. Jostling for spaces on the branches.
Will be heading North (Bundaberg and up) soon as the winter gets a bit cool for them in Brisbane.
