Driverless on Sky
Took an early evening trip into London, invited by Sky News to talk about driverless cars. Went to the studio on the 15th floor of the Gherkin, had an informative chat with the makeup lady (who used a mixture of Mac, Bobbi Brown and Clinique products, for those interested in such things) before going on air with presenter Sam Washington. She's an ex city banker turned TV journalist, what an interesting and very sane career move.
On-air time flashed past, as it always does, and this upward view of the fabulous Gherkin building caught my eye as I exited. The driver who whisked me home (in a Prius) was interesting too, a semi-professional badminton player for whom the work of driving a posh taxi dovetails with his real love, wielding a badminton racquet.
Cars interest me greatly, but people even more.
