Hill Top Ramblings

R. ponticum

The much reviled invader of our wild landscapes, vast amounts of money are spent trying to eradicate it from woodlands and bogs.
Such a pretty bloom, who would have thought in the days of the great plant hunters, what a nuisance it would become.
This plant is regrowing in a small woodland around a pond, where we spent many hours some years ago cutting them down. The only permanent solution seems to be glyphosate, but this is not usable near to ponds.
So I will just enjoy the flowers for the next few weeks, and then maybe they will have to be cut down again!
