Storm before the Calm

Today started at 1am local time, getting up to drive 167 miles down to Gatwick Airport for a flight to Nice. Once there we had a two and a half hour transfer to Genoa, Italy to board the P&O cruise ship, Ventura for a week's cruising around Italy.

I suffer the travelling aspect of a holiday to get to a destination and this took 12 hours. Considering Genoa is less than a two hour flight from the UK it has been mightily tiring. I wanted an image that explained the feelings I have about the travelling and this is it, taken with a fish-eye lens in the departure lounge of the airport. I intend to sleep well tonight.

Tomorrow we head into Tuscany for pasta making and wine tasting. Bummer, eh!
