The perfect storm...?

After a weird atmosphere all week, Alex & I spent some time together & went to see John Smith, playing as part of the Chorlton Arts Festival.
In a slight different way to the last time we saw him, at the Band on the Wall with his band, he was alone at the alter end of the church with just his guitars as company.
As previously though, he was by no means a disappointment.
His voice, lyrics, songwriting & guitar playing just takes your breath away.
Prior to the gig, I had decided to buy an extra copy of his latest album to have in my car. Alex gave me a digital version a while back but being an old traditionalist, I prefer to listen to disks-and will no doubt, play it to dead cover the coming weeks.
It was a nice evening all in all.
