Panopticon at Pendle

This is apparently part of a project "to erect a series of 21st-century landmarks across East Lancashire as symbols of the renaissance of the area."

I'm not sure quite how successful the project ended up being, as the website on the information plaque no longer exists, and a link from the Guardian website is also no longer active.

Not to mention that this one was designed as a viewing point and shelter to look across the admittedly stunning view from this place. There appears to be a major design fault with this - perhaps it needed a drain...
