Monarch of the Canongate

Sunny skies in Edinburgh today and a brief escape from the Parliament building.

I'd spotted this glam and fashionable chap the other day, holding court from the spire of the Canongate Kirk.

I do wonder what the original designer would have thought about the ubiquitousness of the stag's head in modern interior design!!

However, am I the only one who thinks there's something a bit odd about this particular 'stag's' head? Surely the actual head is more like a wild boar with deer antlers! Or am I imagining it?
